Emeritus Professor Samir Ranjan Chatterjee has been involved in Management education, research and training in the global arena for more than four decades through his academic position at Curtin University in Australia. He has lived and worked in many countries in Asia, Europe, U.K. and USA.   During 1994-1995, he lived in Mongolia for a year as a United Nations Adviser in the development of management education in the country. Following the assignment, he worked extensively in Mongolia until 1999 as Director of a number of large capacity building programs funded by the United Nations Development Program. He have been extensively involved  in executive education for senior public officials in designing, directing and teaching in programs for Aus-Aid, Asian Development Bank and  World Bank in countries like China, India,  Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, and Sri Lanka. Between 1999-2003, he was the Co- Director of a Masters Program in International Trade for the senior Officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade ( MOFTEC) and an year long intensive  program of Human Resource Training for senior officials of the Ministry of Finance ( MOF) on the eve of China’s entry into WTO  funded by the Government of Australia.  From 2013-2015  he was the Project Advisor of a pro-poor capacity building programme for senior Public Sector officials in Mongolia funded by the Australian Government. Professor Chatterjee has been recognised as a pioneer in Curtin University’s internationalisation programs during the decade of 1980’s and was instrumental in developing the University’s Undergraduate and post graduate programs in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Vietnam, China, Mauritius and Indonesia.

Professor Chatterjee has authored and co-authored eleven books, thirty five book chapters and about two hundred refereed articles in international scholarly journals and conference proceedings. He is on the Editorial Advisory Boards of numerous Scholarly journals and serves as examiner of Doctoral Dissertations from around the world.  He has been a visiting fellow at many leading universities around the world including Hokkaido University, Japan, Marquette University USA, and University of Ljubljana in former Yugoslavia. The American Graduate School of International Management (AGISM) named him a Presidential Fellow in 1988-89. He has been a visitor to the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) Beijing for over 20 years. He is an adjunct faculty member for the Masters Program for Chinese Practising Managers (CMPM) at Renmin University, China. Government of Mongolia nominated him as an Adjunct Professor of the Institute of Administration and Management (IAMD) in 1995. He was a visiting professor at the E.M. Lyon Management School in France and K. S. Graduate School of Business in Switzerland in 2001. He was awarded Sir Ratan Tata Distinguished visiting fellowship for six months at the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (IIMC) during 1996-97 and continues his visiting relationship with IIMC through   his involvement in Teaching, Research and Executive Development Programs. Other Indian Universities where Professor Chatterjee has visiting roles include Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi , Indian Institutes of Management in Bangalore,  Sri Mata Vishnu Devi University in Jammu , Indus Business Academy in Delhi and Bangalore and Calcutta Business School He is a Former Fellow of the CPA in Australian  Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management Emeritus member of the Academy of Management (AOM) and Academy of Business ( AIB).He has been one of the founding members of the Society for Global Business and Economic Development ( SGBED) where he was the  President of the Society for a  three year  term and he   currently  Chairs  its  Board of Governors.
